For the upcoming Jubilee Year, the Pastoral Center at the Diocese of České Budějovice has prepared daily reflections based on, among other things, the liturgical readings. The daily reflection is prepared by Father Tomas van Zavrel. He would like to guide us through a specific excerpt and help us bring the hope and wisdom stemming from the biblical text into each day.
We will publish the daily reflections on our website – in the menu Jubilee Year – daily reflections, link: https://www.prolidi.online/clanek.php?id=4134.
The reflections will start from December 5th and will continue throughout the entire Jubilee Year 2025.
The reflections will also be sent as a notification in the ‘Parish in Your Pocket’ app.
Those who received individual reflections “Time of Silence” in this mobile app on our Pastoral Center account during the Year of Prayer do not need to do anything. On December 5th, the first reflection by Father Tomas van Zavrel will arrive in the morning.
For those who do not yet have the ‘Parish in Your Pocket’ app on their smartphones, or who do not have the Pastoral Center added in the downloaded app, we provide instructions:
To read a new reflection text every day on your smartphone, you need to download the 'Parish in Your Pocket' app to your mobile. You can download it from Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone, iPad). Then follow this path – menu (three lines in the top left) – app settings – add parish – enter the name Pastoral Center. Once you have added the Pastoral Center, check in the settings of the added Pastoral Center whether the notification for Year of Prayer – Jubilee Year is marked (both must be marked in red). After these steps, you should receive one reflection every morning at seven o'clock starting December 5th. To also read the specific biblical excerpt on which the reflection is based, you can use the link in the provided coordinates (clicking the coordinates will take you to the liturgical texts).
